From April you will only be able to share patient-sensitive information and make referrals to health services including your local doctor’s surgery, pharmacies, hospitals and community trusts if you have a secure NHSmail email address and NHS.net account.
To acquire an NHSmail address you must meet the standards set by the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) self-assessment tool.
To meet those standards, you must evidence that your care home is GDPR compliant.
BEING GDPR COMPLIANT IS NOT A QUICK PROCESS AND TIME IS RUNNING OUT.
